How to Drink & Have Fun & Still Lose Weight
What do you do when things are going well, you’re losing weight, then the weekend comes and you have plans and you’re scared you’re going to throw away all the hard work?
Today I have 4 tactics that you can use to stay on track over the weekend.
- Keep your calories at the same number as the rest of the week. So, for example, if your daily calorie number is 1500, then you don’t just double that for a cheat day. Stick to the same number. Is it harder? Yes, but it will be worth it in the end. Remember 1 ounce of alcohol is only between 60-90 calories so you’ve got lots of room for drinks.
- Keep carbs and fats low all day. Keep your daily calories lower to allow for room in the evening at the party and especially carbs and fats.
- Try to stay under 6 drinks. The more alcohol you drink the longer it will take for your liver to detox over the next week. While your liver is detoxing your fat loss will be shut down, some studies show that drinking over 6 drinks can have a bigger impact on that fat loss.
- Avoid late-night eating. It’s not always the drinks that cause all the harm. It’s the 2am pizza and Chinese food. So although we are saving calories for the evening, it’s best to avoid any late-night snacking.
